X-Ray Technician

Completing the "X-Ray Technician" practical course ensures rapid employment in the ever-growing hospital and diagnostic sector despite high unemployment. With every hospital, nursing home, and diagnostic centre requiring skilled X-Ray technicians to operate digital/CR/DR systems and assist radiologists, this short hands-on training delivers immediate job placement, stable income, and strong demand across government and private healthcare facilities.

Total Modules: 6 (75–80% practical in every module)

Basics of Anatomy, Positioning & Patient Care

  • Basic human anatomy (bones, chest, spine, skull, limbs)
  • Patient positioning for all common X-rays (Chest, KUB, Spine, PNS, Extremities)
  • Patient communication, removing ornaments, pregnancy declaration
  • Daily 4–5 hours positioning practice on live volunteers/dummy

Radiation Physics, Safety & Radiation Protection

  • What is X-ray, Roentgen, kVp, mAs (simple language)
  • ALARA principle, TLD badge use
  • Radiation protection for patient, self & public
  • Pregnancy & paediatric protection rules
  • Daily practical: Wearing apron, measuring distance, using gonadal shield

X-Ray Machine Operation (Fixed & Portable)

  • Parts of 100mA, 300mA, 500mA machines
  • Control panel handling (kVp, mAs, time selection)
  • Fixed & portable X-ray machine live operation
  • Cassette, grid, filter handling
  • 100% machine lab – each student takes minimum 300 exposures on phantom

Digital Radiography (CR & DR System) Full Hands-on

  • Complete training on CR reader & DR system (Fuji, Agfa, Carestream, Allengers, BPL, Siemens)
  • Image processing, cropping, contrast adjustment
  • PACS basics & sending images to doctor
  • Burning CD for patients
  • Daily 6–8 hours live digital X-ray practice (minimum 400–500 images processed per student)

Special X-Ray Procedures & Quality Control

  • IVP, Barium studies (practical assistance only)
  • Orthopaedic views (scoliosis, long bone, trauma series)
  • Reject analysis & repeat reasons
  • Daily quality check of machine & dark room (if any)
  • C-arm basics (observation in OT)
  • Common artefacts & how to remove them

Hospital Internship + AERB-Approved Radiation Safety Exam Preparation & Placement

  • This is the FINAL & MOST POWERFUL 6th module
  • 100% On-Job Training – 5 weeks full-time attachment in 300–500 mA X-ray department of diagnostic centre / hospital
  • Each student performs/assists minimum 500–600 live X-rays under supervision (Chest, KUB, Spine, Bones, PNS, etc.)
  • Works in morning + evening shifts
  • Learns actual patient flow, emergency X-rays, report dispatch Last 7–10 days:
  • AERB Radiation Safety (Level-1) exam preparation (theory + practical)
  • Resume & interview training
  • Mock interviews with radiologist & diagnostic owners
  • Issue of Course Completion Certificate + Hospital Experience Letter (6 months) + Project work report
  • 100% job placement assistance
